On September 24 and 25, QC United presents Unity Fest International 2011 at the Putnam Museum. This free festival celebrates the diversity of the Quad Cities with performances by musicians and singers, arts and crafts, classes in subjects like cricket and zumba, and of course, our favorite – food! Several cooking classes and demos are being offered, along with an international food court. Slow Food Quad Cities is honored to be a part of the festival with a demonstration of three dishes from different cultures, all using one of our favorite local foods: honey!
Along with our great friend Zan Asha, we’ll show you how to make three easy & delicious recipes: coconut lhassee, date coconut balls, and a honey curry dipping sauce. We’ll be using honey from local farms… and providing tastes of the recipes we make. If you like honey, you’ll want to stop by!
Our demonstration takes place on Sunday, September 25 at 12:30 pm. We’ll be on the second floor of the Putnam. We hope you’ll stop by to see us, and also check out some of the other exhibitors, classes, vendors and more at the festival. You can see a full schedule at QC United’s web site.
